Job Title: ENERGY ENGINEER – Re-advertised
   

Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible to the Director of Research National Agricultural Research Laboratories (NARL) and working as a research scientist in the field of farm and rural energy resources development, he/she shall during the course of his/her employment actively participate in:

    Conducting Research and Development studies on technological aspects of Farm level/Rural energy harnessing systems.
    Planning, designing, implementing and evaluating Farm level/Rural energy harnessing technologies according to technical specifications and in conformity with conventional and environmental standards for sustainability.
    Determining and specifying construction materials for execution of the designs, drawings and plans and in compliance with quality standards.
    Establishing production and process layouts and ensuring occupational safety in compliance with set standards and regulations.
    Directing the testing of materials and prototype products of farm level energy harnessing systems and related technologies in order to ensure its viability, efficiency and effectiveness.
    Scientific interpretation, documentation, presentation and preservation of research results.
    Multiplication and dissemination of developed technologies to uptake pathways, stakeholders and clients;
    Carrying out training assignments, and
    Performing any other duties assigned to him/her by the Director and the designated supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a good degree (first class or upper second) in engineering or agricultural engineering with at least two years experience in similar field.  Possession of an M.Sc. in  Engineering majoring in renewable and or other energy resources related fields will be an advantage.

Other Qualifications: Possession of a post graduate diploma in related engineering fields and knowledge of Computer Aided Design/Operational software will be an added advantage.
